Things I love

I adore running gear, especially now that I actually need it. Finally, I don’t feel like a fraud in my Lululemon pants! Here’s what I like to run in (and with).

Timex Run Trainer watch Arm Warmers Brisk Run neck warmer
My Timex Run Trainer GPS watch. Cheaper than a Garmin but does exactly what I need it to do. Lululemon arm warmers. These are a life-saver when when you’re standing around in the chill pre-run. I love the color of this Lululemon Brisk Run neck warmer. (Yes, my obsession knows no bounds.)
Lululemon Run in the Sun Shorts Rush Tank Run Swiflty top
Lululemon Run in the Sun shorts. A bit teeny tiny but oh so cool. (Er, obviously not my legs.) Icebreaker Rush Tank, made of merino wool, which has amazing wicking properties. Lululemon Run Swifty top, made of super-wicking Silveresence fabric.
Lululemon Brisk Run Gloves CW-X Insulator Expert Tights Women's Cresta Wool Base Layer
Lululemon Brisk Run gloves with fingertip dealies so you can use your iPhone. CR-X Insulator Expert tights. These are a miracle in tights form. Women’s Cresta Wool Base Layer from LL Bean. Toasty warm, and wicks like a champ.
Nathan Sprint Water Bottle Lululemon No Show Ultimate Sock Lululemon Paradise Shorts
A teeny tiny water bottle that holds on so you don’t have to. Socks that don’t fall down; and that tell you to Run! Fast! (in case you forget). Perfect shorts with giant pockets to hold all the essentials (discontinued, sadly).
Nike+ GPS app Haruki Murakami: What I Talk About When I Talk About Running Lululemon Dance Headband
Nike+ GPS app keeps track of your slowness. Favorite author muses on running and writing (a man after my heart). Hairband (warning: may draw attention to cranberry-face).

  1. I love the shorts, too! Got 2 pair before they sold out. They’re quick drying, so I can travel with them.

    • I never thought I’d feel this way about a pair of shorts – or any kind of clothing item, for that matter – but I am in love! I really wish Lulu would bring them back, or at least something similar. I need giant pockets!

  2. I saw a pair of CRX tights for sale for under $40 at a marathon expo. I’m kicking myself for not buying them…

  3. Atheleta has some awesome running skirts that have a pocket and hide your ass. Fila makes a great sport tank with a media pocket big enough to fit an iphone.

    • Cool!! Good to know. I’m not sure how I feel about the running skirts. One of the sales assistants at Lululemon tried to talk me into one a few months back, but I wasn’t convinced. (Too many memories of high school sports days, perhaps.)

I do like the ass-hiding properties though, so I may have to give them a second look. At least in the summer they won’t also have to hold the hat and gloves that I have ripped off mid-run in an over-heated rage!

  4. So glad to see the CW-X tights on your list. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them. Just went out and got a pair of 3/4 length for a 25K trail run. Best. Decision. Ever.

    • They are amazing! Have seen me through many, many freezing runs. Hubby has three pairs, for all seasons, and he swears by them. Time to buy myself a summer pair! Wow, 25km trail run. That is impressive!!

  5. The tights for all seasons, for sure. (c: The 25K was a great (though tough) trail race – my first distance(ish) trail run. It’s in east central Pennsylvania, if you’re ever looking to do a weekend trip that way: http://www.hikerun.com I also blogged about it here: http://wp.me/pLqqf-lw and here: http://wp.me/pLqqf-ka.

Good times. Love your blog by the way. 🙂

  6. Do you know the brand of the headband? I’m looking for one. With the summer upon us, after I run my eyes are beet red from sweat falling in them…not a pretty sight. 🙂

    • It doesn’t have a brand, unfortunately. I have been to a few race expos lately to pick up packets, and there have always been tables piled high with them! Maybe you could find one online? There seem to be some on Etsy. But the best place would definitely be an expo if you have the chance to go to one! 🙂

  7. Between the hammock the children decided as well as the deck swing we picked out, it surely made
it that relaxing spot we were looking to generate.
We’d an easy picnic in our car, but we created essentially the most out of the condition, also it was very pleasurable viewing the waves and the viewers.
